Full-Order and Simplified Dynamic Phasor Models of a Single-Phase Two-Stage Grid-Connected PV System

The dynamic phasor (DP) method is a useful tool for developing simulation-efficient models suitable system-level analysis. In this paper, two DP of single-phase two-stage grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) system are proposed. the first model (DP-Full), PV array, capacitor, boost converter, DC-link, and MPPT (maximum power point tracking) control modeled. second (DP-Simp), DC-side simplified by aggregating capacitor- inductor dynamics into first-order function while calculating MPP voltage current analytically. accuracy execution speed verified comparing their performance with those detailed switching simulated in an electromagnetic transient program. Simulation error calculation results show that there good agreement between from proposed model. studies two-bus demonstrate computational advantage DP-Simp DP-Full over multi-converter scenario. can be used fast-paced analysis distribution grids high penetrations.
